Just a bunch of old crap
I went the "cheap" way and started out with the spacer lift so I could get new rims/tires to fit. In the long run, I would have only had to spend $300 more and I could have gotten a much better upgrade. Just dropped my spacers this past weekend and put on LR UCAs, 5100's and OME 885 springs. The ride is incredible and the flex is greatly improved over the spacers.

Save the money and avoid the spacers, folks!

Coil spacers ride rough but so can top plate spacers if they are large enough that they are maxing out the play in your uca's when you go over bumps.

no misinformation from my part. a 3" lift from an in coil or top plate will be rough...

I would never do more than a 1/2" top plate spacer, just to avoid maxing out your shocks.

    this, thanks KPT.

Ok so then dont say the ride will be rough. Thats all Im saying.

I run a 2" top spacer and have no issues with a rough ride. They aren't for everyone but after a ton of research I chose spacers.

If it's big enough than yes. But so can a good c/o set up if you don't upgrade ucas

Coilovers won't damage the ball joints because the down travel is still limited by the shock topping out. So the suspension's position at full droop has not changed, it just takes less downward movement to get it there than before.

With a top plate spacer, all you have done is force the whole assembly down 3", allowing the suspension to droop 3" below the point that it was designed to, hence the ball joint damage.

Bought mine with a spacer and AAL.

    Looked like this:

Then went with ToyTec's ULK, Dakar rear leaf pack, and LR UCA's. Then of course tires and bumper and winch.

    Now it looks like this:

Better ride and handling in my opinion!

Good point. I guess you'd just be a hell of a lot more likely to mess up your bj's with a spacer but don't read that wrong you can still mess em up with a decent set up
