We've all heard of or participated in a "mod day." They provide an opportunity for us to work on our trucks, lend a hand, share ideas and knowledge (or tell lies), put names to faces, and, most importantly, drink. They can also be a bit of a clusterf**k.

Having access to a well-equipped, professional facility that can accommodate all attendees and the tasks at hand might be worth paying for.

    You would have access to:
    • Industrial compressor and air tools (could also BYOT)
    • Hand tools
    • Specialty suspension and brake tools
    • Lift
    • Shop-grade strut spring compressor
    • Two 20-ton shop presses
    • Alignment rack
    • Large abrasive media blast cabinet
    • Parking for up to 30 trucks
    • Professional mechanic
If you could have access on any given Saturday to all that, would you be willing to pay for it?

No reason you couldn't do something similar in your region.

I concur! Spent about $40 for pizza and beer, so $40-$50 for a days use seems practical...

Let's say the facility cost would be a fixed amount. So, the per person amount would drop as the number of people increases.

When we order two pizzas from Round Table, it's always over $50, sometimes $60.

And considering labor is anywhere from $80 to $120 an hour.

I love this idea and I like where you're headed. down the road, I want to own some commercial space and keep one warehouse for myself with a lift and what not (personal hobby shop). I'd definitely open it up for mod days.

Dood. I like the energy and time you have to open this up!

I realize you are doing "a scenario" here, but I like the idea of an annual club member ship more. Predictable cash flow on an annual basis for rent, insurance, and utilites woudl have to be a baseline.

The ability to just roll in and do a 5-tire rotation and oil change with truck on the lift...PRICELESS! No, wait, I mean $100/year.

Throw in suspension work, armor work, welding....me gusta mucho.

Shit, you added an alignment rack and a pro mechanic!?!??!?!

I'd have 2 lifts instead. to avoid conflict etc, perhaps one designated as PM priority the other for Mod priority.

Also need solvent parts washer and waste for solevent, oil, coolant, all that messy shit that is a PITA to manage. Pay for that service.

Would this be a “safe space”?

    :cookiemonster:

Great idea btw. Maybe have a yearly membership for this who live near by and would use it all the time and a daily rate for those who would drive in from out of the area to do a big project.

Then you have to worry about someone doing something and getting half way into the project and stalling due to waiting on parts (...or funds).

So do they just leave the car or would they have to tow it home or something?

Let's assume in this scenario there is no overnight storage. Project must be completed in the same day. I'm sure a member hosting a mod day wouldn't want me leaving my truck in his driveway for a night or two because I didn't plan or bit off more than I can chew.
