    Too many to count.
I hope this is not a tease. I am located in Vacaville.

They have a shop at Travis, but I haven’t looked into their rates or what all is available there. I know for sure they have lifts though.

It's a poll, and I didn't promise anything. It was to guage interest. I will say I did the poll for a reason. Still, no promises.

    This is a great idea.

This place is $35 an hour. http://pitrow-diy.com/

Also, I think this the kind of business the Car Talk guys on NPR started out with.

You thinking about brake lathes and such? What about used fluids? All that has regulations for storage and such.

I remember when Denis at PitRow was just starting. He was an automotive engineer for Mercedes back in Duetschland. Nice fella. Got screwed by a few partners in the deal.

I had my own shop for a few years. Overhead killed me, being in Burlingame and all...

Good luck and get a good lawyer.

Not thinking full service garage or machine shop. More like accommodating what typically happens on a mod day. Haven't heard about many people turning rotors on a mod day. A lot of people installing new ones though.

Only a few of us are mechanics by trade. The rest of us are just the mechanically inclined types that like to do our own work if we think we're up to the task. Often, tools and adequate space are the hang up. Some people aren't even allowed to work on their trucks where they live.

Just curious, oil changes and transmission services are not hard and do not require a lot of tools. Just need someplace to put the old oil. I guess you could bring a container and recycle it. I know a lot of auto parts place take it.

True. But remember, the theme is mod day not maintenance day. Most of the mods I've seen usually involve bolt-on stuff (UCAs, coilovers, leaf springs, calipers, bumpers, etc.) with some occasional welding or body panel trimming. Some could do that alone at home, but it's nice to have some extra hands available to help speed things up.

Also what about tire changing equipment? I hate having to go to tire shops. Would rather order on line and mount, balance, program TPMS myself.
