I have owned both a 1995 TRD OR which I drove to 90K miles and I currently own a 2005 TRD OR which has 177K miles. Neither one ever gave me any mechanical trouble other than normal wear and tear. I love them both!

Hum, can't really decide which I think was the best. I have had pre 1st Gen a '82 HiLux with a 22R engine Auto, the body of the truck rusted away everywhere, but mechanically it was sound, started everyday. My 1st Gen '00 PreRunner SR5 TRD w/3.4 V6 Auto was sound mechanically but the frame rusted away and Toyota bought it back 12/17/2012. Now on a 2nd Gen '06 SR5 4x4 w/4.0 V6 6-Speed bought 1/13/2013 with 46k on it, now with 49k and haven't had any issues. I know at 44k a new clutch was put in and all recall issues have been dealt with to date.
To date I've been happy with all 3. Nothing major has gone wrong with any of them other than rust issues. Anything man made will eventually need to be repaired, any moving part will wear out. How long it last will depend on how well it is maintained and what it's used for. Just my opinion.

I think the Pickup was the most reliable, but out of the choices given, I'd have to say 1st gen
