    ^^^
Had several in other vehicles including one that was aftermarket. The aftermarket installed one was OK, but the installers failed to prep the area well and left metal dust on the roof with the predictable results. Didn't help that after it was installed, the sun didn't appear for 3 weeks. Maybe it was a "Sign". The one on the Ford I used to own was a factory one, no problems in the 7 years I owned it, but have heard of others that have had problems.

When I shop for autos I am not looking for a sun/moonroof by choice. Potential leak and bad in a rollover

Synthetic oil/lubes used throughout. NGK Iridium Lazer 100K spark plugs. Rear differential breather extension modification. Toyota front skid plate, roof rack, bed mat, chrome exhaust exhaust. Runs like new!
I added an aftermarket moonroof (not sunroof) to me 03 double cab Tacoma. Had it installed by a reputable installer. A family member that was currently managing a Toyota dealership assured me they do a great job and they always used them. Felt a little uncomfortable at 1st but it looked like factory when it was done. "It made the vehicle feel like a convertable with all the conveniences of a crew cab Tacoma. I used it all year long." Didn't get the annoying sound that I got when the windows are open. Absolutely loved it!

Unfortunately I test drove the 05 Tacoma and decided to sell the 03 model. Much nicer ride. I would have lost the light, sunglass holder etc... in 05 Tacoma so I decided not to do it. If it were not for losing those things I would have done it again in a heartbeat from the same reputable installer. They are designed and reinforce the roof when installed correctly. It will lower the ceiling height; keep in mind if you're really tall. 5'11" here. I was never concerned that my first one would leak any more than a factory one may leak. Now I have had my Tacoma for almost 8 years so I would not get my monies worth if I were to install now. Maybe keep the Toy for a few more years. Do your homework with installer and go with if you really love a sunroof; especially if you plan on keeping vehicle for a while and get your monies worth out of it-my opinion.
    Good luck!

I have the inalfa 925 installed in mine and love it. No regrets as long as you have a qualified installer do it you shouldn't have any problems. Imo it should be an option on the tacoma. I had one on my Tundra and when I got my Tacoma drove me nuts not having it.

If it was an OEM option I'd get it. Aftermarket ones ALWAYS leak in my experience. Even OEM fails after a while - motors get weak, drains clog up, etc.

I live in Western Washington, so the only thing a sunroof would do is leak eventually. I've had cars with sunroofs in the past, and I only used them a few times each year. So for the cost, I wouldn't get much benefit.

+1... I love a sunroof and use it a lot but I had an aftermarket (inalfa) installed by the Scion dealership in my xB back in 2005 ish. I had it for 3 months and it started leaking... after that, I don't think I'll ever do an aftermarket one again

I love sunroofs.. like others said if it was oem, I'd do it but roofs with ridges just aren't made for it. Plus for a minor plus, it's big $$ with big risk. Pass.

I don’t really care for them! Also it’s a truck and i use it as intended and don’t care for all the “luxury” items a lot of cars and trucks have now a days.
