I've had Safelite and others replace ours and they don't seem either worse or better than any other windshield. None of them last very long here. I have read that many times the install is where a windshield replacement goes wrong and safelite seems to have that mastered because of their mobile install equipment. I have read some stories about safelite using inferior quality glass, but I don't know if that has ever been proven true. Maybe someone here with industry experience can shed light on that. I agree with previous poster that OEM would probably be best if possible.

Safelite is a global company. They even manufacture their own glass. And imo it's the cheapest glass you can ever put it in a vehicle.

SGC is the glass brand. It says it on the glass bottom of driver side usually around the vin cut out.

By cheapest you mean poor quality? I would assume any company that size would be manufacturing their own glass - that is just good business. But it doesn't mean they need to make it inferior quality. I'm not second guessing you since you worked there.. It's hard for me to comment on that because no matter what brand of windshield, we are lucky to make it more than a year here.

Make sure you specify you want an OEM replacement, otherwise you can't be sure of the quality.

It's coming out of pocket for this one. I lowered my deductible so if another one happens, I'll go with OEM.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
 this stuff is getting crazy. Wow.

Safelite told me once the difference between their glass and the OEM glass is how thick it is. The Toyota glass costs 2-3 times as much but is thicker.

That's what he told me. :notsure:
