My FJ windshields cracked almost yearly.

If a bird flies into your sliding glass door or you hit a rock with your boat, it’s not the manufacturers responsibility.

This stupid shit drives up cost and wastes time for others.

At some point you have to take ownership of your truck.

My insurance covers it for free. It doesn’t bother me if I have to replace it every month.

Yep I make sure I get the windshield replacement No Deductible. 2 on wife’s Pilot and now my Taco. I just switched HO and Auto to Nationwide yesterday although they put my auto through National General (never heard of them) but I got better coverage on both policies and saved $498 a year . You gotta shop them every 3 years

    Carrying insurance =‘s taking ownership/responsibility

I might ask my agent what it would cost. OEM windshields are suuuuuuuper expensive.

I make sure I get the highest cost for glass / install. Insurance is a scam.

I'm new to the world of Tacos. I bought an '18 trd offroad a couple of weeks ago. I really love my truck. It is a lot more fun to drive than my previous truck. It was a '14 z71 silverado. My only complaint about my tacoma is how brittle the windshield seems to be. Mine didnt even have 600 miles on it, and the windshield was hit by a very small rock that a car in front of me kicked up. It hit at the bottom of the windshield passenger side, and the crack quickly began to spread up the windshield. After asking around, the running cost seems to be $800 or more. Does that seem to be the going rate?

We get free windshield replacements in FL. Some state law. But this has me concerned about my 18 coming in next week...

I think you should change the "no" vote choice to "not yet".

And Safelite made it out today with this beautiful piece of glass. The installer even said I’ve never seen one this jacked up and off. At least 1/2” short each way and appears to be warped. The installer didn’t get my brand new headliner tucked back and even left me some fingerprints. Now I have to wait for another replacement unless I go elsewhere . Am I being to anal if I bring up the headliner to my insurance

Were you able to get that using your insurance deductible this time? Just got a nice crack going in my windshield. And just lowered my comp deductible and hoping to file a claim in a couple weeks or so, so it doesn't look too fishy?

Changed my vote to more than once... 2nd replacement in 18 months I’ve owned the truck. This was from a pea-sized pebble that kicked back off a truck well ahead of me on the interstate. Small chip spidered 7-8” in both directions.

Cracked windshields happen BUT I have been driving for over 20 years and aside from a wreck many years ago I have never had a single cracked windshield until this Tacoma... same driving habits / routes and I’ve even driven Xterras that have a very similar boxy shape

At least insurance is good to me on these replacements

Need another choice on the poll, "I have a coin size chip, patched it myself and calling it good". With that said I voted I have a crack and haven't replaced it.

    Lots of sail boat fuel
Never had a cracked windshield until this one. I also worked construction. Went all those years driving in crappy places with not one crack ever.

15k on an empty road at 11:30pm, mystery pop/crack. Not going to pretend to know what's up. Just an educated guess that the glass on my other tacomas were tougher.
