So I'm pretty sure my stock steering rack bushings are shot, at least there making a hell of a lot of noise, Any recommendations on upgrading? Any brands better than others or all the poly bushing kits all the same? When I search the main ones that come up are Energy suspension, Dorman & Prothane. Are they all about the same quality or is one better than the other, there a particular brand I should go with or stay away from? Price wise they are all very close to the same...and all cheap $18-$25

I have energy suspension ones. Feels great. Have always used energy suspension brand in the past and have never been disappointed.

sounds good, thanks!! how was the install? I'll probably have it done because now that I moved I no longer have a place to work on my stuff (or the time for that matter) but it'll give me a rough idea on what it'll cost me.

Install for me was easy cause I was placing in a whole new rack. I don't think it would be too hard to do under the truck. I used a c clamp and some sockets to push the old bushings out.

Hard to explain, I'll have to try & take a video upload it to YouTube and post it. Not clunks or rattles but like creaking when stopped and turning the wheel and backing while turning is when I notice it the most.

^ did you lube the bushings prior to install ?

did you torque the bolts to the proper torque requirements ?

I took it to my buddys shop becouse I don't have the time or place anymore to do it my self, I know they are torqued, just not sure on the lube. I'll have to call and ask. All I know is it pretty much sounds exactly the same as it did before.

I can hear it, but really not sure what it is. Have you checked the fluid level?

I haven't, but it doesn't sound like a power steering fluid issue to me. But I'll check it anyway just for the hell of it.
