Check your engine mounts at the frame. They may possibly be slightly collapsed or caved in at the frame welds. I remember those were common occurences in the early gen 2nd gen. They would cave in or collapse and it would cause the engine to sit lower which would in turn rest on the fan shroud and cause excessive rubbing.

Or the frame itself twisted inward causing the engine to lower, usually from to much air time

Got the truck used but bone stocks I doubt previous owner did anything., no air time but lots of Colorado crawling.

On another note thank you both for the write up, I'm definitely happy with the results of the cab and radiator bushing replacement.... I ended up putting the smaller puck on top. Sliders don't bang on the pinch weld anymore and just feels a little more solid all around even with no sway bar.

Mine just arrived from Amazon today. Will try to install next time I'm in the same state as my truck. Thanks to @Crom for telling me about this useful mod while we were out in the Mojave!

So I've got the radiator bushings in now.. They are the separate ones. Not the ones that come in the body kit. I put the smaller bushing on top.. Wondering if I should swap them around, or is that just for aftermarket bumpers to gain some clearance between bumper and fender. I have the smaller bushing on top for the body mounts as well (regular install method), so I should probably keep them all consistent yeah?

Even if I have the body bushings with the smaller one on top? It won't make the nose high? Im sure it wouldn't be noticeable to the eye, but just wondering if it would cause any issues or gaps

I tried both radiator bushing kits and I would honestly go with the one that came with the Tacoma specific kit and install it as it is supposed to be. The sleeve from that kit is also better.
