Polyurethane Radiator Support Mounts (Cab Also)

    This isn’t a trick question, I promise.

    How do the 9.4101 universal bushings compare in size to any bushing (OTHER THAN THE RADIATOR BUSHING) in the 8.4109 kit?

    There are two pairs in the 9.4101 kit that do not go at the radiator, these are the ones I am asking about. They are larger than the ones that go at the rad.

    I have no idea how to answer your question. I installed my kit so long ago that I can't even remember sizes like that.

    The ones which are larger in the 8.xxxx kit are the ones you are referring to it sounds like and those are specific to the body mounts. The 9.xxxx universal bushing kit is much larger than the radiator support mounts provided in the 8.xxxx kit and can be sized more similarly to the body mounts which support the bulk of the cab.

    I don't know what it is you are trying to accomplish here, of course I understand the T4Rs are a different animal in comparison to the Taco, so I also understand why you are asking oddball questions. I hope this helps, however it may?

    This is what I was looking for. I just went ahead and ordered 3 of the 9.4101s and will be running those on all of my body mounts.

    Thanks, based on those dims I think those would have been a better fit, that top one is about a half inch thicker than the 9.4101G, same diameter. But, without hearing back from Energy Suspension I would have needed to buy two full kits to get the three pairs I needed.

    106k on stock bushes. Been bad for about 30k. Such an easy procedure to change out, 10 mins per side.

    Just installed mine, had trouble getting the top washers to sit even. I am going to see if they even out after some driving.

    Will the top corner of the fenders touch the cab if you jack up the front end to install the bushings? Also, would the more stiff poly urethane bushings increase vibes and shocks that could accelerate cracking of sheet metal?

    I didn’t notice any contact when I jacked up the front. You don’t really need a ton of separation to get the bushings swapped. If there was contact it didn’t leave a mark.

    I’m sure accelerated wear is possible, but the big group 31 battery I have is far more likely to cause issues than the bushings. Personally I wouldn’t worry too much about that :notsure:

    Ha, damn these threads. I've never even looked at my radiator support bushings but this thread is making me spend money. I have 75k on the odometer so from the sounds of reading through this thread i'll need 'em anyways.

    Quick question: is there any potential harm in installing just the radiator support bushings and not doing all the cab bushings at the same time? What i'm thinking is having fresh bushings up front and old bushings elsewhere, does that put too much stress on the new bushings or are they not all tied together?
