    Besides from anecdotal experiences, is this actually confirmed from a vendor or elsewhere?

    I see, found the FAQ source below. Looks like a "select few" of the black ones contain the graphite.

    IS THERE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE ENERGY SUSPENSION® RED AND BLACK POLYURETHANE COMPONENTS?
    Both colors are made from our signature Hyper-Flex™ performance polyurethane. A select few of our black polyurethane components contain graphite to add a lubrication property. Graphite is not added to the red formulation because black graphite discolors the red polyurethane. Graphite does not compromise our polyurethane formulas.

    The information I quoted was from another member who directly inquired to them about the two Tacoma specific kits and the difference between the black and red. I would assume that the Tacoma kit in black count as one of the “select few”.
