    I'm stuck and need all y'all's opinion/help

i am thinking about either replacing the stereo / speakers

    or

adding an aries grille guard (no lights just yet)

my taco fund isn't what I would like it to be, so I can only do one.

first thing did with mine was put in Pioneer 3-ways front and back & Pioneer head unit w/ remote... the dang stereo in these things is dangerous to look at while driving.

Sound System, even if you only do a headunit, it sounded better IMO, but i have an Ipod ready headunit, Rockford Fosgate Amp and Subwoofer with the stock speakers and it sounds pretty good, would be wayyy better with aftermarket speakers though.

    Good luck :D

did it on my 2000 V6 and love it! Only cost about $20-ish for parts and $7 in tools (needed a hole saw). Nice boost in acceleration and throttle response. I've heard (but cannot confirm) it's ~5hp increase.

    Pink slider.
grill guards are useless. they're what, almost $400? For $500+ shipping you can get a much stronger tube bumper from 4xinnovations.

Do you plan on taking your truck offroad? If yes, go with armor (sliders and skids should be your first investment in armor). If no, go stereo.

I voted sound system. Thats next on my list. I'd like to get a double din touchscreen and new components with a subwoofer.

I just got my taco a few months ago and love it. However, am torn with the system that is in it. It is a double din touch screen that is kick ass, but think it would be better if it was on top of the heater controls. I find that is it hard to get to, especially while driving.
    Anyone think the same?
Or am i just a lame ass...

Until you hit a deer and save thousands in repair , maybe. Just go with the best that suits you. I dodge hundrends of deer on my weekly commute so it made sense for me. take a look. This is the Aries I got for $420 delivered.

BTW I think those on 4xinnovations look terrible. My opinion but really what's the point of looking like a stripped down beater?

Amazon has it for 317.02 delivered, but then I would want to add lights.
    Maybe that will be next.

    he IS a first gen....

I'd say replace the head unit first, then speakers if you still have some cash. it will make driving your truck alot more fun...and pleasing to the ears:D
