new Springs get here Monday! Went with eibach 16” 600lb. Will try to install them this week. Hopefully this is route of my problems. Today I jacked the front wheels up And disconnected the rear driveshaft, and just checked for binding. Checked in 2wd, 4wd no locker, 4wd w/ locker. All went well. No binding, but at full limits (limit straps straight) it had a little friction once every rotation. I’m really hoping lowering it is going to help the problem.

Alright, here it is. New springs are on coil overs, and installed on truck. The ride height difference is crazy to me. If I were to try to compare it to the old ride height, it felt like I was one of those Carolina bois with half a lift installed. I measured my CV angles before and after using my ‘measure app’ on my iPhone. Before, I was riding at 18 degrees driver side, and 20 degrees passenger with the 18” springs. With the 16” springs, and half an inch spring compression, they are at 10 degrees driver side, and 13 degrees passenger. I’d say it’s quite a big difference and can definitely help with my CV breaking problems. There is now quite a bit of slack in the limit straps. Pictures below of before/after.

    Awesome!

Still looks a tiny bit high to me. Id lower it personally but thats just me. Mine is more "level" CV angles, not sure what they are but I have about 50/50 up and down travel. You're still mostly up travel and less down travel.

However if you go much lower you'll be riding on the hydro bumps, the down side to having them on the LCA..but probably rides a lot better now too.

Went and did some flexes to try everything out. All went well. Tested in 2wd, 4wd, 4wd both cases low, and crawl box double low. Nothing broke and all around a far better feel. Now it’s got me thinking about relocating the bump stops higher. Never tried it with front locker on, cause there is no point and I don’t feel like replacing another Cv today... pics to follow

As lame as this sounds, best part of VA is all the custom vanity plates options. Waiting on a new one to come in the mail, myself

I was really surprised by how many options they have here. Sadly I am moving to FL next month, so I’m thinking about re-registering it in FL because taxes are much cheaper than this state.

Not sure you can move the bumps up. They are just 2'' stroke. If they were installed correctly then when they are fully compressed thats the true bump height. They are basically a small shock so as they compress the stiffer they get.

But due to the geometry of being mounted on the LCA near the inside by the piviot point, it really means you are bumping the last 4-6'' of travel with a 2'' stroke bump. No way around this really. Other than a fully fabbed spindle, engine cage and then bumping off the spindly/UCA. But thats race truck stuff and you don't need to do that.

That sounds like a headache. The only thing I have left is to change the diff fluid. I’m just getting ready for it to sit and be occasionally used for the next three years... no off-roading sadly. 26 days till I move.
