    80mph, 11-12mpg...

What's your tach at 80mph? Mine hovers around 2300rpm at that speed.

Are you using the additional 5 gears?

You just filled up when you took the photo. Where’s the photo when you were refilling to show tank average? I totally agree, that driving habits play a large roll on MPG’s

You should be able to exceed 20 without too much trouble

80mpj is more engine load plus increased wind resistance.

I have seen it go 20-21, thats if im doing a long drive doing 68-70 MPH. Once I go 75 on flat, thats when I see it go under 20MPG easily.

I meant for the entire tank not just a trip, but yeah it will drop if you go over 75.

    80mpj? Holy crap that's loud!

WTF does any of that have to do with what I posted? Wednesday morning, and this drunk is no way to go through life, son. Wait. Yes, it is. Nevermind.

Well, glad to know that our m/t can go over 20. It doesn't help since I work on a military installation and I hit 7-8 stop signs just to get to work.

When did you last excavate your air filter?

What is your tire pressure as measured with a dial gauge that doesn't have "Fisher Price' on its dial?

Do you have a buddy who works at a lead-recovery plant, who has access to your truck at night, and who enjoys pranks?

Are you putting Coors in your gas tank?

Is your girlfriend in the truck? Is her name Shamu?

Do you work at a parachute factory & bring your work home with you?

    Enquiring gnomes want to mine...

Jesus Christ. Is your air filter clogged with dirt?

Consider trading the truck for a bus pass and a sturdy football helmet.

Oops. I meant 80mph. That speed at those RPMs with increased wind resistance is probably what's giving you your low MPGs.

I know Texas driving. It ain't the top speed that's killing you, it's the braking because there's someone doing 60 in the left lane, then stomping on the gas to get back up to 80 again. Frequent changes in speed is numero uno on the list of mpg killers, followed by wanting to go above 60 mph, and bringing up third place are oversized knobby tires.

Then, it sounds like this is the mileage you will get in this vehicle, with your steering habits, your pedal habits, and your average urgency.

Once it becomes enough of a problem, I'm confident you'll figure it out on your own at that time.

When I first got it I drove like if I was in a race car. I got about 15mpgs stock. Then I slowed down and didnt let the tachymeter get past 2K rpms, it cut my gas bill in half. Now I just drive in and get over it.
