Poor Powder Coating Job?

You know how much I paid? $125 a wheel!!

 

I'd show him some really good photos of it and let him know you are in NJ now and you need the money to get it redone or he needs to pay to ship you another set rims while he re-does yours....

Powdercoat IS a spray paint in most cases- It doesn't need to be laid on super thick, but it does need to be properly prepped and set- which it looks like that was not.

well yeah that sucks mine have been powdercoated for about two years now and i have one teeny tiny ship from when i did an allignment on my truck...

i say call em up and tell em what happened and get your money back and find a local shop in jersey

 

the thing that really is weird is that it only too him a day to do it.....every other place i called said 3-4 minimum. The thing is, he sold me when he got a floor powder-coated wheel and banged the shit out of it with a ratchet. thats what sold me!

 

well after looking at it... that was like really uncalled for... haha.. you know what forget i hate you blackhawke.

well i got mine done in a day i dropped em off at 8am and they were done at 4pm!

if he stands by his work 100% then yes he did a shitty job how much did you pay??

EDIT: just saw the 125.00 a wheel.. you got ripped the hell off!! mine were 300.00! for everything!

 

Wow............. Im going to call him tomorrow again. I sent him pictures that i posted on here earlier. I really hope I can convince these guys.....

If he has large enuf/numerous enuf ovens- One day is no big deal. Break it down, Spray it, bake it, PUt it back together, Off you go...One day.

125 per wheel was a rip off even if he did a good job...I hope he goes for getting you your money back.

Yea, I mean I'm thinking about it now....it's going to cost him a shit ton just to re do them again with shipping ! it makes sense for him to refund the money!

That sucks man it definetly should not chip like that. I work with powdercoated metal and sometimes I have to remove paint from parts of the metal, and it is a PITA!!!! I have to use a dremel to remove the paint.
Good luck getting it fixed.
