Before a pop and Lock is installed does the latch have tension. Or is the tension provided by it being hooked up to the rods that unlatch the tailgate.

    Just some stuff...
I recently replaced my non-locking tailgate handle with a pop and lock with a camera in it. Didn't notice any tension on the rods at all. Install is really straight forward. Just don't forget to flip the rod on the left. The instructions provided tell you why.
