It's less Tacoma and more mod
Don't wait too long, mine took 18.5 years to finally snap, they were sagged into neg arch for a long time too. Then finally I heard crack and voila it was busted before and after the u-bolts (good thing it was the second leaf).

Looking forward to hearing what the dealer does for you. Mine are negative arches and I feel like it's only a matter of time until one snaps, it's a little scary to put a load of firewood or loam in the bed. I picked up a load of 900lbs of firebricks last month and rode home on the bump stops, it swayed so much I had to stay under the speed limit the entire way.

I'm included in this recall and I read somewhere that it should have a remedy listed on Nov. 29th, can anybody verify that?

PS - my 2001 broke it's rear in the exact same place as the picture above. Do other manufacturers have these problems?

The weird thing is that I snapped on the droop/down travel, not under compression.

    I don't understand that one.

I'm waiting for the ones on my 96 to snap...they are pretty close to laying flat, and I regularly have 500+ pounds in the bed. Don't know what I'm gonna do when they snap.

I broke my Toytec AAL which is American made by Deaver now I have the OMD mod done on mine and I broke one of my Chevy springs, never any of my Toyota springs. Funny thing is that I think I take it very easy when wheeling it. Around here it is very rocky and I usually am going about 5 mph.

    *UPDATE*

Just got off the phone with the dealership. They will replace the broken leaf pack with another "recall" leaf pack for now and wait for the recall to get into effect and have both springs switched out.

One problem though, Maui toyota doesn't have any leaf packs at all. They're waiting to see if servco toyota on the island of oahu has a leaf pack for me.

    Just called me back again.
Oahu toyota has "A" leaf pack. My Maui guy is waiting for someone on oahu to physically look at the spring and see if it's the 3 leaf pack (like mine) or the 4 leaf pack.

If it's the 3 leaf then they'll ship it to Maui and my truck will be out Wednesday afternoon.

Then it's a waiting game for the recall.

True but ill take whatever I can for now.
Being that this isn't part of the recall at all, just a friend helping out until the "remedy" for the recall is figured out.

I doubt many dealerships would be this helpful.
