Bought mine in 2018 for my 2016. Worked great till now. Will lock but not unlock. Appears that the actuator will not fully compress to move the locking lever into the unlock position.

Anyone have any luck with any other brand of product?

I had a similar issue, try spraying grease into the back of the locking mechanism. That worked for me.

go to 3:27 in this video. Hope it helps.

Thanks! Just finished the video. Have been sub'd to your YouTube channel for some time now, just hadn't gotten around to watching the Mountain Hatch install yet. What your actuator was doing is exactly the same as mine. I had taken my Mountain Hatch off this afternoon to try and figure out what was going on. Will try WD-40 tomorrow! Thanks again!

Seems to be common. Mine has been exhibiting the same behavior for a few months now. Only hangs while unlocking.

I’ve had the same problem with my 2017. I ended up finding a replacement actuator from aliexpress for under $10. If you don’t want to wait a month for shipping, pop and lock sells the actuator but are way more pricy $50ish

Also try realigning the rails of the pop&lock. I found that helped a lot.

I fixed this issue with mine earlier today by spraying silicone lubricant on everything that moves in the tailgate.

Yup, needs lube. Especially creeps up in the cold.
