So A few weeks ago the small plastic tab on the handle for my pop n lock snapped. Needless to say I needed a replacement. Since I was out of the warranty period for it I had to buy a new handle. For 100 dollars to replace the plastic handle where everything else worked find didn't sit well with me. So I came up with an idea to reinforce my broken one since I had to order the new one as I have a cover and use my bed a lot.

I came up with a solid solution that would distribute the pull weight across the whole handle. basically cutting out old pin and adding in metal bracket that substitutes it without any visible changes.

I want to see if there is an interest for this. I can reproduce them and sell them to people that have a broken handle or ones that want to bullet proof their handles.

I'm unsure if the bracket will work on other models as I only ever had it on this tacoma, I would think that it does fit other pop n locks since its just a handle modification but won't be able to say until I have another model in hand.

I have a working prototype that I haven't taken a picture of it as its dirty and unpainted

    Thanks!

    TL;DR:
Pop N' Lock plastic to metal pin replacement, you want it or nah?

Keep in mind these are a rough prototype it would be finished and painted before selling.

I'd be interested depending on design and price. Already on my second P&L, also that broken tab

Yeah I don't know why they don't beef it up some how. Pricing won't be anything to crazy I don't think. I may have long lead times but If i get enough people saying they want it I'll make a die to pump a small volume out. then theres cutting and welding.

As you can see in the picture you wont be able to tell theres a difference. everything is hidden. me painting it is just to protect from rust.

I'd be in. Anything is better than paying over $60 for a new P&L and lining their pockets more.

I was thinking 35 shipped to the CONUS. Mostly if I have to make a die to press it out.

Put me down for one. I don't care if it's the ugliest piece on earth. Just say when, and the Paypal is yours.

    Is it ready yet?

    How about now?

    Funny man you are ahha

Was planning on 35 shipped CONUS

Either way currently trying to figure out how to make these a little more efficiently because the current one I made was a a bit difficult to put together. Like I said still prototyping maybe even making it in aluminum instead of steel is being considered material cost is a little bit higher doing so though.
