    Heck,

I paid $85 for my Bed Mat...and $302 for my TRD Skid (Included Shipping).

So, I make up for it elsewhere. :D :D :D

The dealer gave me the bed mat for free. I'm lucky that time before I left the lot.

Always go OEM. It was a super easy task and I dislike working on vehicles.

You have it right...it's only loud when it actuates...at least, that's the gripe I've read on here about PnL.

I wouldn't know how loud because I went OEM.

It still makes a noise letting me know the actuator operates as designed.

I don't always open the tailgate but I do open it when I tank up every two weeks...just to watch the gate let down slowly. :D :D :D

I just installed the OEM one this morning. It was really easy and the kit includes everything you need. Took less than an hour and that includes looking for the tools I needed and putting everything away.

I wouldn't call it loud but if you're near the truck you can hear it. It sounds like an OEM lock, but in a good way, if that makes sense. From the videos I watched the other ones sound like aftermarket locks and are much louder, if that matters to you.

I posted this in the "3rd gen today" thread, but advising all that, if you stop hearing your Pop'n'Lock actuating, check the fuses first before disassembling the tailgate... The 5A fuse blew on one of my leads. The fuse gave its life to save my door locks...

Do you know what the part number to the locking nut is? I’m trying to find one in person so I can finish up my tailgate. TIA

I'd goto hardware store and size one up.

    I don't know the PN.

I installed the oem. Wait for a sale from a dealer. My local dealer recently had a 20% off or holiday sales work too. Install was pretty straight forward. I do not regret it at all. Never had the pop and lock so I can’t say anything about that.
