    Pass.

Suggest to look at a tow-behind Folding (pop-up) Camper. Many advantages, larger beds, kitchen, table, truck bed remains open for use, easy towing, less wind resistance.

For $3K that's not too bad. You'd play hell trying to find a FWC for that price. There's a lot of info on truck campers on WandertheWest.com as well.

With experience you can get really good.

I towed a 10' Coleman Santa Fe with a GMC Sierra 2500HD. I had situations when I did a "3 point" turn around on a 2 lane highway. Then a couple days later, same trip, I parallel parked the whole rig. Had to feed 3 parking meters. Walking to the Aquarium, we went past the parking lot for the aquarium that had provisions for RV and trailer parking........:rofl:

Full disclaimer- I have no experience with these. Anyways the biggest problem I see is how much weight is going to be hanging off the back of your truck, or more importantly behind your rear axle. Maybe a set of airbags could help with the boncy rear end, but i imagine its going to turn weird either way.

You should locate the camper's center of gravity over the axle. The owner's manual has specific guidelines to the location.

yep but out wheeling is a lot harder than in town. i have a ten foot with a max coupler hitch and have taken it plenty of places but you still have limits. i can flip a u turn in a gas station with it.

any taco gurus out there know the wheel base difference between a 1st gen 2 door and a 2nd gen 4 door. wonder what the difference is for the weight distribution

FWIW, there are folding campers with high ground clearance made for off-road camping.

Yeah, agree. I had a wife and 2 young daughters then, so rough camping was not in the cards.

As nicely priced as that is, I wouldnt want to put a 7 foot camper in a 5.5 foot bed. Not without knowing exactly where the COG of that camper is.
