2010 Dbl cab 4wd. This started intermittently about 8 months ago and the dealer thought they had it solved by retightening the lug nuts on that wheel.
It's back and much more frequent and trying to get some ideas before I go back and spend another $85 for a diagnoses.
    Any ideas?

More detail, when does it pop. How often. Can you feel it in seat, floorboard, steering wheel.

    Can be numerous things

Lug nuts? I would seek a different dealer

    Maybe a bad rod end?

Jack up the front passenger side and shake the wheel from side to side to see if you have any play or if you hear any noise. If you do I would replace the rod ends on both sides and get an alignment at the same time.

Some places will give you a free alignment check and might spot a worn or bad part during the check, especially if you indicate there might be worn parts. Most shops will be happy to replace them for you...for a charge of course.

Despite getting chummy with my chiropractor today, I did go check the lug nuts. It's not them, but I further tweaked my back checking them, so no jacking it up here for a bit.

It happens most often when I've got the steering wheel turned hard left and backing up. There is an audible pop, but you almost feel it more in the floorboard coming from passenger side. But today it also did it just moving forward a bit. Strange!

I've had the same issue... Mine is a 2015 with less than 25,000 miles on it

I had it in the shop for something same, but different (like that makes sense) on the drivers side. They ended up stripping out the threads on some kind of funky part that took them 3 days to get and so on the last trip in I thought they would check and find the same thing happening on the passenger side...nope. Or at least that's what they said...hmmm.

Definitely sounds like a bad rod end. I had a Dodge Dakota years ago that exhibited the same symptoms.

I would question the CV joint first. Reverse bind at full lock screams angle issue with the knuckle. I would also consider the lower control arm bushings or sway bar links(stabilizer links).

Last thing I would consider is tie rod ends, rarely do you have a binding pop issue in those, especially over a long period.

Is it only while moving or can you get it to do it, even if faint, while stationary turning the wheels.

That can differntiate a rotational bind versus a pivoting bind.

There's only so many components that can cause it, I'd seek out some locals for a good front end shop. Everyone has their specialties, and finding the local expert can save time and money over the long haul.

It actually is more prominate at slow speeds, as in just barely backing up. I have a shop that is darn near walking distance that installed new front hubs for me for $300 after I bought them from recommendations given here. Saved me $800 off the quote from the dealer.
