I Need Help!! I was screwing around about a week ago in some water and when I was backing out, there was a loud pop. I stopped and looked around but there seemed to be nothing wrong. When I started to drive my truck home the noise would come in and out sometimes pretty loud mainly when I was turning left. Someone told me they think its the bearings and that they need to be replaced. There is and orange dust that is all over the front right wheel. Could it really be a berating with only 77k on a 2011 sport? Thanks in advance!

I would check the suspension component's. Ball joints, tie rods, sway bar links. Bearing could go out at that mileage, but a popping noise isn't what I would expect to hear. More of a squealing or metal on metal scraping noise.

I'd also check the Disk Pads, Slide pins, caliper, etc. I'm wondering if the Caliper stuck and "popped" the pads when it unstuck. Since you were in water and if the caliper is sticking and releasing it could be making the popping and the rust may be from the caliper dragging on the caliper and wiping off the rust ????

    Just a guess ....

It seems to me that a bearing would not just POP and start going bad - and if it was dry and wearing the rollers I'd think the bearing would be noisy as hell and screaming by now.... ??

A bearing should not go bad all at once. But they have been known to go out fairly quick in some of the Gen 2's. As soon as 50,000 miles on some.
