Had the talon's garage cat shield (1'/4 alum) for about 2 years, and when taking slow turns or speed bumps the factory TRD Pro skid plate make a metal popping noise. It originates from tension across the plate as I can replicate with a pry bar on one side.

I contacted talon and they told me, 1.. I need to put two 1/4 washers between the frame and the skid plates, and 2 that there is a torque pattern for the tundras TRD skid plate that can cause this, and maybe the tacoma has this too, but I have been unable to find any pattern to tighten down the factory skid plate to avoid this clicking.

Anyone else have experience with something like this?
