Popping noises in 4hi

    Recently my truck has developed an issue were it pops when turning in 4wd when turning sharply I was wondering if anyone may know what it is.

    Cv axle would be my first guess. Have a friend help you pin point which corner of your truck is making the noise.

    You're not supposed to turn sharply when in 4X4. Even off-road unless you're on extremely slick roads like ice covered roads. I suspect you do have a CV axle or 2 that are bad. Operating in 4X4 where traction is good and turning corners will cause that.

    I was turning in sand I replaced the drivers side cv axle. I haven’t had this issue when turning in 4wd before do you think the new cv axle is bad already. It’s appears to be popping on drivers Side!

    It also popped when accelerating in a straight line in sand.
