    Concerns about the long term effects of hot shutdowns cooking your oil like crispy bacon?

    Nah.

    Beat on it all day long like a Gen2 or Gen3. Then just trade off before the powertrain warranty expires. Good to go.

    Read the owners manual. It clearly states on page 113, the Tacoma has a hose port on the drivers side in front of the door, that leads directly into the turbo's intake. It states you need to run a garden hose for 10 to 15 minutes allowing the engine to fill. This will then sufficiently cool the turbo engine block.

    However, I saw on you-tuber that opening the hood will speed the process by only 1 to 2 minutes.

    No.. but I did speculate if that’s why the plastic cover (hated them) disappeared on the 4th gen due to heat.

    Nobody knows what’s going on under the hood of the new Tacoma. Looks like Toyota chopped Medusa’s head off and stuffed it in the engine bay.
