What do you plan to power with it, ie, do you know how many watts you need?

If you plan on doing much more than charging a phone, you can skip the cigarette lighter socket powered inverters.

Depending on what your plans are, you may be better off to get one of the small gas generators.

The higher the wattage of the inverter, the more juice it will need from your battery so know your requirements.

This will let you know whether to invest in a dual battery setup + higher output alternator, or one of the portable generators.
