Porter's Page!

My parents took Porter to the vet for the second time last night, to get some more shots. Due to the Coronavirus, the vet's office will not allow pet owners to go into the building with their pets; This is why I did not go with my parents this time.

My parents had to wait out in the Yukon while a staff member brought Porter into the building, and then they paid over the phone; Porter's ear mites are completely gone thanks to the medication he was given! Also, the vet believed Porter was going to be 60+ pounds, but he did not gain any weight in the week between the two appointments (he currently weighs 34 pounds); Because of this, it is believed that he will be 50 pounds or less. Despite this being small for a male Labrador, Porter still strongly resembles a purebred Labrador.

 

Cute little guy glad to see you got a new little fur baby. I get attached to animals so quickly it was very sad seeing what y'all had to go through last year.

 

What kind of dog do you have?

 

LOL well that's kinda interesting. Crocsy is a Lab/ Dacschund cross. Coolest dog i have ever had 24 pounds of tennis ball chasing fury. She can jump and take a toy from my shoulders. You should be able to see the lab and Dacschund in her in the pics

My mom thought so too, but he’s been 34 pounds for a week!

 

Mandy (the white dog who died last July) was primarily Lab and Corgi...

 

I think his legs grew!

Finally got some pictures of the dingus sleeping!

 

We have given Porter a lot of Mandy's toys, and he loves most of them; One such toy is the "Frampton ball"...

Essentially, it's this plastic ball with something inside that makes a giggling noise; This noise is similar to Peter Frampton's singing voice, hence the name I gave it. The Frampton ball had been in the basement, in a box with some of Mandy's other toys since her death in July 2019; I introduced this toy to Porter a few hours ago, and he freaked out as soon as he heard the noise! He freaked out and ran away, and now he seems to be scared of every toy that was present when the ball was introduced; He also seems incredibly uneasy when in vicinity of the kitchen/sunroom/family room, and sometimes tries to avoid me and my parents in that area.

 

Porter is not housebroken yet, but he seems to be understanding that he is not supposed to go to the bathroom in the house; Unfortunately, he has not grasped the concept of going to the back door when he needs to use the bathroom...



One of us will take him out and he'll either pee or poop (mostly pee), but not both; He will then drop deuce in the house without warning! Again...



He has done this several times in the last few days...

 

This little tire was Mandy’s when she was alive, and it was one of her favorites. It had a jingle bell in it, and Porter was terrified of it seemingly because of the noise the bell made; These photos were taken after I removed the bell...

 

I used a hammer to smash up the bell and remove it...
