You used a shotgun to stop someone on a public road that you thought was speeding and then documented / admitted it in a public forum?

Nothing personal but, I've got to question your wisdom my friend.

when i was young i was the guy doing the speeding, so i guess i cant say to much. i remember "that guy" yelling at me. actually there were a few of them. noone pulled me out of my truck though. i dont think that would have been good for either party. and heres a tip, tell ur kids to stay out of the fucking road. common sesnse applies to that one.

There's five houses on my whole road. The kids around know to watch for cars but they just moved in and need to know to go slow and watch for the kids

Do you have kids? If not, you have to tell kids like 100,000 times before they even think about looking before walking in the road and then learn to stay out. It's not as easy as you think to keep kids out of the road.

Housing areas are not race tracks. Wanna go fast, find a race track. Otherwise slow down.

x2 going 5-10 mph slower on a dirt side road to avoid hitting a kid doesnt seem like a very big sacrifice

actually yes i do have a kid. he would rather play outside too, and he knows not to go anywhere near the road. and i also grew up on a dirt road with 5 houses on it. so trying to prove my ignorance isnt working for you.

Than just wait for that one day that your kid has a close call in front of you. Than you'll realize how important it is for people to have respect and slow down to just a lil more than the speed limit.

Got a young neighbor about 1/3 of a mile up the hill from us who regularly does 50-60 mph coming home in his Dodge full size. Speed limit is 25.

Now that is an issue... but doing the posted limit, or 5 over shouldn't be an issue.

Interesting observations- You are so worried about people showing you resepct (and by respect you really mean cowtowing to your wishes) that YOU DREW A GUN to "convince" them they needed to listen. Some problems I've got here-

The speed limit is the speed limit- You can request that they go slower-but it's just that-A request...because the speed limit is the law. Don't like the speed limit on the road?? Go to the county/town/whoever and get them changed. Don't play billy badass with a gun.

It'll be great that you kid is safe and sound from some shitty neighbor who speeds- while you are in jail for commiting a gun crime...That'll be AWESOME. Or even worse...You end up dead because someone sees you coming towards them with a gun and they don't wait to hear what you have to say.

The logic of pulling a gun to get someone to drive a couple mph slower is about as dorked up as a football bat.

Not to mention- Didn't you say you have a gate?? So I'm going to guess you have a fence in the front?? Cause my 2 year old doesn't understand that roads are not to be trifled with yet...so he plays in the fenced in back yard and is watched 99% of the time. I also unplug power tools, put chemicals on shelves, and generally do everything I can to keep him outta harm. Seems like keeping the kids away from the road is really a better answer all the way around...Much less risk for the same outcome. And it's legal.

That was not my point, If someone grabbed my neck, while i was in my truck, i would be forced to defend myself. By grabbing me by the neck, that would be consider assault.

but also for every action, there is an equal or greater reaction...some people should think about things they do.
