i have a 99 excab 4x4 4cyl auto. the truck seems to have some personality quirks. it was crashed before i got it and partially repaired. the first problem i have been having is the trans will shift back and forth between drive and overdrive. lately the wipers will come on and stay on reguardless of what you do with the switch. the only way to stop them is to unplug the wiper motor. my thought is that the computer is fried. the truck sat without a windshield for awhile. a friend told me about a corolla she had that had similar issues and the computer was bad. the truck has days when it will go fine with no shift problems or wiper issues. it sometimes will act up when its raining. any ideas?

If by 'computer' you mean the ECM - that's got nothing to do with wiper functioning.
