    Hello,

Just installed Toyo open country AT2 285/70/17 with adjustable Bilstein set at 2.25 to help the tires fit. I am now noticing a positive camber stance in the front ( \---/ ) with more tread wear on the outside ( main issue). An alignment was done after install. Truck rides fine doesn't really pull to either side. I have been back twice for realignment and each place tells me my alignment is dead on to specs...Now that I ride a bit higher wouldn't I be out of range of stock specs? What should I do or say at this point? Aftermarket UCAs? Specific numbers to tell them?

You need to get an alignment, your going to ruin those new tires.

Mine isn't as bad as yours, enough for me to see it. Plan on buying a set of UCA sometime this spring.

Welcome to the site. I seriously doubt your alignment is in spec with a 2.5 lift. Got the print out?

Nothing dead on about it. That is very noticeable.

Unless you like it, I would take it somewhere else to get an alignment. Getting new UCA's would point you in the right direction

That's what I don't understand lol. Everywhere I go they say my alignment is perfect but here I am looking at my front end all crooked with obvious outside wear (only to the point where the feelers are gone so far)

I know each truck is different but hard to believe those numbers are right being at stock measurements with 2.5" of lift. Just visually looking at your truck, you have positive camber greater than what your print out states.

From my experience, it's hard to get +2 on caster at 1.75-2" of lift already.

Most regular alignment places don't want to spend too much time dialing in an alignment. For the most part, most of the alignments they do only require toe only adjustment.

Ok, I'm confused and just trying to better understand this.....

Since the Front alignment points are attached to the tire rim (Right?) why did it read out that way on the alignment machine printout ??

#1 You got the toe&go alignment

#2 I have a hard time believing the truck I'm seeing with back to the future wheels only has ~.6° of positive camber. Maybe my eyes are totally fucked or the picture is making the angles look much worse for some reason. o_O

#3 This is a perfect example of why being "within spec" doesn't mean shit.

#4 You probably don't NEED upper control arms. You just need a competent alignment tech. You MIGHT lose some caster during the process.

    1. That makes complete sense because that's what they told me they fixed (which is bullshit).

    2. "Back to the future wheels" lmao damn man i don't even know how to take that but either way it's funny. The photos may be exaggerating the angle but it is still slightly noticable in person.

    3. Yes, agreed. They are so glued to what the computer is telling them and completely ignoring the fact that you can blatantly see the camber angle and feel the slight tread wear.

    4. That's exactly what I'm shooting for, have a couple appointments set with reputable aftermarket shops who hopefully have some sense in them.

All the same issues here. 2 alignments at toyota, 1 at 4wp.
I have the SPC light racing UCA's installed, but I don't think they've ever adjusted anything from the UCA.
I think when I go back in I'll tell them to put the camber between -.5 to see if that does it.

+1 for going somewhere with a competent tech. When I did my lift I replaced UCA’s and everything, and my truck looked almost identical to yours after I took it in for alignment. Everything was “in spec” and the tech claimed that was “the best he was able to do”. Took it to a 4wd shop in town and they spent all of 5 minutes unfucking the other guys work. No issues since, no positive camber.

That shop’s machine probably needs to be calibrated. I bet they are getting it to where they think it’s right, and reads right on the printout, but... I had something similar happen, just had to take it somewhere else.

Go too a offroad shop that understands lifted Toyota trucks and get a proper alignment done, stop messing with regular alignment shops.

Put -0.5 camber on both sides, that will make the wheels look more vertical.

When I had 0 camber, the wheels looked positive cambered. I’m actually getting more even tire wear with -0.5 camber.

I have had the same issues after my leaf packs settled more after towing a ton this year... squatting more in the back has seemingly raised the front enough for there to be noticeable positive camber.

    Im in Pa also,
Check out Mount Zion 4x4 offroad in Doylestown. I haven't went there but after googling forever for a 4x4 shop, this place sounds like they know their shit.
Their website mentions lifted Tacomas with vibrations, truck pulling, after adding bigger tires.....
If you ever end up going lmk.
I'm going to check them out this summer to get uca's and trying to eliminate vibrations, pulling.....
