none except for crappy hub caps and floor mats.
Sooner or later those gas prices are going to be creeping back up again and those driving V6 Tacos getting 15MPG will probably wish they had gotten a 2.7 4 banger. Another way to look at it is that the 2.7 is a lot easier to work on, ( it has no timing belt, water pump easy to get at, etc etc) plus their longevity and reliability is unmatched. Keep your truck. You will lose a LOT of money in the transaction.

    Too few to list.
I did a quick kbb and it said trade in at excellent at about $19.5K. So you lose $2K assuming that they would give you that much for it but I know how it sucks to pay for and put money into something you don't want. If you can afford it, I say go for the a base 4x4 six.

Do it if you can swing it financially. You may always regret it if you don't. And paying for something your not happy with sucks!

OK ... on another note, you driven a Tundra? Pretty sweet ride. I got the 4cyl Taco due to lower bed for loading scuba gear.... and fuel economy. However I had a hard time not getting the Tundra. Loved the ride and power in that rig. It was cheaper than the Taco due to incentives.

boy if you got the cash yeah do it but for most normal folk (except for FJ buyers) you buy it you keep it at least 3 years or until you pay it off... i hate reading stuff like this because you are gonna lose so much money on the trade. you might feel better and get that new owner euphoria but how much more money is it and will you be upsidedown in your loan, etc...

When I was talking to a Toyo dealer he said backin 2008 there were a ton of FJs being "returned" by people who had no idea why they bought it in the first place. all those people lost out and bought a used Toyo or a Corolla... this dealer said they took back 6 FJs in 2008 from people who either could not afford them, didn't realize the gas money, impulse bought them, have families and realized it sux, etc...

if you must have the 4.0, you gotta sell your 4banger not trade it in... they are raping you.

i use to work at a gun shop part time and some customer would buy a handgun and come back 2 days later and trade it for something else, its like why didn't you research this? they lose so much money i even feel bad (hence why i'd hate to be in car sales)

I don't dispute that the V6 is more sensitive to the spikes in gas prices, but a fair number of us V6 owners are getting 20+ MPG. I've been getting 20 MPG on my '09 V6 since I bought it, with about 70% of my driving being on the highway at 70.

I would hardly say that 18-19 Mph is ripping, but I think we all know what you meant. :)

the 2.7L is pretty weaksauce- meaning you have to lay on the throttle to move in daily situations like merges etc. While with the v6 you don't have to lay down as hard. That is why on a daily average the mpg might be only a couple miles

It just depends. On driving style and preference, I love my 4banger it halls, so what a 4.0 will beat me on the high way, see it try to keep up in the trails!

Why wouldn't a comparably equipped 4.0 be able to keep up with you on the trails?

Life is too short. If you want the V6, if you can afford it and if you are willing to take a bit of a hit on your trade, go for it. As for mileage, I'm averaging roughly 19 MPG mixed driving and I got almost 22 on my only pure highway tank so it's not exactly a guzzler. I suspect the 2.7 would do a little better, but if you can afford the truck payment, I doubt the extra gas of the 4.0 would sink you.

Im just saying my truck is Lighter... its just what we do, we bust each others balls around here. I dont really tow anything so theirs no need for the 4.0. if I want to go faster, I can just do a few mods..

Who's getting 15 MPG??? I think most people get between 18 - 20 MPG with the 4.0 and I've seen many claims higher than that.

To the OP: It all comes down to priorities. You purchased the 4-banger for a reason--you had priorities. If after experiencing life with a 6 your priorities change, so be it. Life is about choices and weighing options. Investigate what it would cost to trade up and decide what is most important to you.

Life is short, if you can trade it or sell it outright & it works with you financially (a personal decision here) go for it.

Are the new 2.7 tacos slow or something? I feel like my first gen taco with 2.4 hauls ass. Course' I have a stripped down small reg cab version with 5 speed so its lightweight thus a high power to weight ratio. I can easily smoke the tires on mine and I've actually beat the hell out of some of those "ricer" boys in their souped up Hondas.

18-19mpg? I get 17.3 driving like i stole the truck on my V6. When gas was high and I drive like a granny and got 18.5 easy.

I would imagine that the new body style weighs more than the 1st Gen. Tacomas. Secondly, a 4x4 (with options) will weigh a lot more than a stripped 2wd. Other than that, I have never driven either so I can't say how fast (or slow) the 2.7 is.
