    No codes or anything ….
I have heard others say oh the Tacoma’s sound like diesels… well
Just not sure this isn’t something not quite right. And no not the Taco tic, the lower thunking
I’ve changed oil to double check, oil came out cleanish not too bad at 5k miles since last… used Mobil 1 and I know the oil on these trucks is stupid thin … 0w-20
Pretty consistent and doesn’t matter if engine is cold or warmed up.. 35k total on truck
    And drives fine acts normal.
Tried to get as close as possible and isolate the noise
Have to listen to the low thunking.

I gotta say my 2022 with 8600 miles sounds similar when parked next to a wall or in a garage. I'm not gonna worry about it. Seems to be a noisy motor. On my 3rd oil change so I know it's not that. I don't hear much in the cab so I'm good with it.

These motors have a cleaning cycle that makes them sound louder at times. Yours sounds similar to my 2019 and I’ve never had any issues.

Yep I’ve heard the cleaning cycle … first time wasn’t sure what it was doing until I read up on it ….

Sounds just like mine. It’s the high pressure fuel pump for the DI.
Sounds like a turd. Some are louder than others. Mine is really noticeable in the cabin when idling.

Lol funny , I got mine with 28k and literally from the get go it has shifted fine for me …. Could it use better throttle response…. Sure
But it’s been helpful in teaching my oldest to drive as he doesn’t jump the line
