My 15-25 MPH driveline vibe/coming to a stop shudder/rumble strip feeling or whatever one wants to call it completely goes away with a few bags(4) of mulch in the bed. So with that said, they're staying back there until Toyota fixes it. I absolutely hate going to the dealerships, so I'll have them take a looksie when I bring her in for the 10k service. I'm not a truck grease monkey tech, but I did work on helos for 25 years in the Navy(H53's) and am well versed in troubleshooting vibrations and drive shaft angles/alignments. So with that said, I'm leaning towards a leaf/driveshaft angle issue.....on my truck anyways. Maybe some of you guys may want to throw some weight back in the bed to troubleshoot your issues too?

I strapped my front driveshaft and it did not eliminate the vibration. I actually picked up a vibration from 40-50 mph after greasing the u-joints in the rear.

A 40-50 vibration isn't the same as the OP's complaint

I have the same issue as the OP, the dealership confirmed the issue a few weeks back but did not have a fix. I'm just saying that messing with the rear driveshaft from greasing it seemed to cause a vibration in my truck which was not there prior to adding some grease to the u-joints. I had a zip ties holding the front driveshaft for two months, but it still did the rumble strip feeling when slowing around 20 mph.

This is basically what I am afraid of. I asked them if the "fix" is going to lower the rear of my truck. They could not answer that question. I do not want the back of my truck lowered. Or any part of it!! This is one of the main reasons I buy a Tacoma is because of the stance/ground clearance right off the lot. I will be getting a lot more details from the tech when the parts come in.

Yep, that's a concern of mine too. I see a tad of a drop with the mulch in the back. Hope the proper fix isn't worse!!

I agree that this is most likely drive-line/leaf spring issues. My 2006 was very smooth. Then the frame recall came, after they replaced the frame including drive shafts and leaf springs, got the same vibration everyone here is complain about (manual transmission too). I solved it by trading that truck in.

What gets me is that the rumble strip vibe on my truck isn't always prevalent.:notsure: Usually driveline angles don't change (unless shits loose) and warped rotors/drums don't true themselves. Sub'd for outcome.

My dealership is putting new drums on Monday. I'll report back on Monday/Tuesday that the drums are not the cause.

Maybe in some cases, but I zip tied so it will not spin and made no change. Also still there in 4wd (may eliminate front needle bearing issues 2nd gens are having)

Fab Four Bumper with winch: OME Suspension
    Hi fellas.
    Thanks for all the info.

2016 TRD off road. Loved the suspension.
Added fab fours winch bumper and winch. Bad idea in hindsight didn't think of the weight.

I installed an OME 2# full suspension without Dakar Leaf.
Had the shudder vibes down low and also buzzing around 45-55.
I tried the CB shims up and down the ladder of adjustments with no good results.
I installed the 2 degree shims to pull diff angle down as some suggested and adjusted CB with no good results.
Angles all over the place and I was getting frustrated.
I put the shims from the factory springs in the rear to pull diff up and did the CB ladder again.
    Final:
    TC: 0.0 degrees
    first shaft: 4.6 Down
    Second shaft: 4.9 Down
    Diff: 0.0 degrees

Very smooth now and I may play a little with the CB for tweaking.
    Hope this helps someone.
