Ok, I posted about my problem possibility being the trans but I am pretty damn sure its the motor now.
It sounds like there is a miss but now it doesnt as I pulled up to the side of a building and stated reving it up which was super slow like full throttle for 3sec in it only got to 3k rpm. WTF... Just before doing that, the engine got a little more pickup and go but it's to a point that I dont want to pull out in from of a horse and buggy let alone another car.

My wife and I are stumped on this.
This truck is our only vehicle and I'm screwed if it dies.
I'm a mechanic and I can fix her but I would have to rely on my neighbor driving me to get parts.

I will fix this truck but I need to know the problem to fix.

I will post some vid later.

I posted about it possibly being the trans before just in case I missed something.

Codes r the same as they have been, p0031 and p0051 which are o2 sensors. I just haven't wanted to spend 200 bucks per o2 and the truck has had the same code since I bought it in Feb 2015.

I was thinking it was the cats being clogged but the power starts to come back at around 3500 rpm but it's a bitch to get it there. A clogged cat would have no per across all rpm.

How many miles have you been running in "open loop"? Is there a chance you have been feeding the 'cats fuel rich exhaust and have finally gagged the cats?

Smell the exhaust. If it smells worse than a trash fire, you have plugged cats. Separate the coupling between the exhaust pipe and the cat to see if it can breath better. It's gonna be loud.

But there wouldn't be much pwr at all with clogged cats, right?

I just got home and plan on doing a compression test first, I have 262k miles on what I think is the stock motor and trans

Have you at least tried unplugging the o2 sensor's, maybe try that and unbolting the cats.

Check your compression.maybe you have a cracked ring land. Do you have any excessive smoke ? What's your oil smell like. Pull the dip stick and smell for fuel. Tap your cats with the handle of a screw driver. You should be able to tell if they have puked there guys out or are packed full of crap.

I will check the compression as soon as the truck cools off. There isn't any smoke.
Don't want to mess up the spark plug threads.

    Aren't you a mechanic ?

Not trying to question your ability but that's a pretty straight forward question for a tech

Sounds to me like the motor is begging to stop being choked. If your O2 sensors are bad and causing issues, it would make sense to me to look there.

Yes, mechanic, went to school for 2.5 years, and have had 9 years experience since then. But a clogged cat should have little to no pwr across the rpm.

Won't the cat get glowing red hot if it's clogged up?

Ok. Since you've been driving over a year and a half, the faulty o2 sensor may have caused the cats to foul. But, go out, open your hood, disconnect your battery, open the relay/fuse box in the engine bay. Find the relay labled AF Heater (O2 heater) and the relay for the fog lights. Remove them both and put the fog light relay in the AF Heater relay position. After 15-20 minutes, reconnect your battery and start the truck to see if there is a change.
