I did...I also mentioned the paint protection film much earlier on and never saw another response about it? Just curious.

I was going to try that 3m paint protection tape next- after the 3m weather seal tape. The weather seal was cheap so thought I'd try it first. I wasn't expecting the weather seal to be so close in composition/feel to the paint protection film. If the weather seal tape doesn't work, I feel confident in saying the paint protection film won't work either.

Note- this stuff is NOT at all like clear packaging tape. It's more similar to paint protection film.

So I'll throw out an update on my fix so far. I placed some gaffe tape on the door weatherstripping (see one of my earlier posts for exactly where). I only did the door weatherstripping, didn't do anything on the cab side. The tape runs from top back corner of the door down towards where the mirror is, about 3' in length or so. I couldn't quite isolate the exact area of the sounds so I figured might as well do it all! haha. So far after a couple of weeks (2 I think?) the noise is reduced about 90%. I still occasionally hear a very faint noise on really bumpy roads or going over train tracts but for me, I'm considering my problem solved. From where I was before to where I am now, I feel like I'm not losing my sanity because of that noise! Hope this helps some of you guys out there. There's a lot that could be causing your noise so everyone will probably have a slightly different fix, just keep experimenting until you find something that works for you!

    I'll post an update too...

My fix in post #88 is still going strong. Noise is 100% gone and the added weatherstripping hasn't shown any signs of peeling off. It's still an ugly fix but at this point noise-free is more important to me than the cosmetics.

Be careful bringing this to the dealership for a fix. I brought it in a month after I bought my 2015 and they adjusted the doors. It stopped the seal noise, but created a horrible wind noise coming from the front of the door like the seal isn't making a good connection. Dropped it off and waiting for them to call about the wind noise. I'd rather put some tape on there for the sticky seal noise than deal with a horrible crosswind noise.

I have this exact fear. I don't have any of the 'highway wind noise' and I would hate fot them to replace my "door squeak" with "cross wind".

The idiotship. They'll do more harm than good for sure. 99.9% they will do nothing for any type of cab noise. Except waste your time and raise your anger level.

Not sure if it is in this forum or the otherone...but there was a thread where a forum member did a detailed DIY fix on removing the seal and inserting vinyl tubing to the length of the black strip. Can't recall the poster's name and I've been searching for it. What ever he did, it worked.

Good Lord! Is seems like the latest models are worst with this madafreaking noise. My 2007 dbl cab had a similar noise like in some of the audio/video tracks provided. The windshield was blamed and had the bs tsb done on it. That was a fail. It seems like the doors or the frame is off by so many thousands of an inch but I am not an engineer. The damn seal could also be made a bit bigger. Has anyone though about using a different seal from another Toyota model? If the area in question is the one marked on the pic above, what about pounding it from the inside in an attempt to raise it a bit more so it can make a proper contact with the door???

My Taco does it at random and only when I am going over 70mph and there is a headwind. It looks like you guys are having more headaches as the weatherstrip shrinks due to the cold.

Good luck and if I come up with a solution, I'll share it.

Toyota quality is gone to sheets.

For what it's worth, my noise stops when I stick a small index card between the seal and the door with the door closed. Near the rear of the top edge of the window- just in front of the corner of the window. This tells me it's definitely the surface of the cab side rubber seal in contact with the painted metal portion of the door.

Try it yourself. Really easy to pinpoint the exact location of the sound. My next attempt at a fix is to try narrower strips of paper to further pinpoint the exact location. Then I'll stick these little 1/4" diameter rubber pads on the seal in that spot. It might take a couple. Or three spaced out about an inch apart. I got them at the hardware store- they're to put on the bottom of a vase or bowl or anything that you don't want to scratch the table underneath. They're just a little sticker basically, made of rubber. I think it'll be enough to increase the pressure to stop the squeak.

I used material that would be be used in a camping (sleeping bag)or yoga mat. Not too thick but dense. Easy to cut and fit where needed.
