Have a 17 TRD Sport 6-Speed Manual. I Remember seeing a small smudge of some substance before 5K miles. I have almost 14K miles now and this is what is on the Diff. VIN did not show open recalls. Will the dealer let me keep my truck while parts come in?

    That's up to the dealer.

It doesn't look like it's bad enough to be an issue while you wait..... as long as it doesn't get worse.

I was not part of the recall either, but due to this forum I looked at my pumpkin. Sure enough I had two small fairly faint spots and brought this to the attention of the dealer on my next Toyota care visit. Sure enough they will replace the seal and replace the bolts on warranty. They let me know when the parts came in and they did the work in less than two days while I left the truck. I had to fight a bit, but they gave wifey a loaner for the night (dealer is closer to her work). Overall, I do believe your dealer will take care of it

Awesome, I was worried of my truck sitting for weeks. Seems like that's not problem anymore.

My truck looked exactly like that but it stopped on it's own.

    Seepage is different from leakage.

My service folks pointed out that I have a little seepage. (I was impressed by them bringing it up). They said we should keep an eye on it and if it forms a drip, they would fix it

Go talk to them. I wasn’t part of the recall but mine was much worse. It was dripping slowly. They fixed it though. Took a month for mine because it was back when a lot of people were having theirs fixed and parts took a while to get in. Yours should be much quicker.

That is good that they are gonna take care of it and let you still drive it.

Just for the record the dealership cannot confiscate your vehicle and not let you leave in it. If what they consider is a safety issue they may want you to sign a wavier releasing them of liability if something happens.

They didn't even mention having to keep my truck. They gave me the keys and told me to come back next week when parts arrive.
