Same here and Toyota has to do something or they are gonna lose even more market share in the segment. The big three almost get double the mpg of the Tundra along with more options, etc. for the same price.

Exactly! If I'm not mistaken the big 3 also have better performance numbers.
No wonder the tundra sales are struggling.

Yeah too bad they won't fix the crummy transmission or gutless low end on this motor

Safety Sense is coming for 2018.

A chance of LED headlights on the limited model

I love radar cruise. When it decides it wants to work.

Pretty sure that'll be successful. Can't say the same for your upgrade though.

I don't see that Safety Sense happening on the 18 Tacoma.

Ford confirmed diesel already for ranger

Whether is the lion diesel or transit diesel, hadn't been decided yet

Yep, Toyota already set their own mandate to have one form of saftey sense in all of their vehicles by the end of 2017. Well before the IIHS mandate.
Following suit with the tundra, LED headlights, standard LED drl's, possibly LED tails, and some package changes is probably the best it's going to get for awhile.

Yup, I believe the Toyota mandated Safety Sense will push a slight refresh of the 2018 Tacoma earlier than usual four year cycle.

I for one do not need all the latest and greatest technology out there. I think the truck is over priced as it is, but we as consumers keep wanting more and more gadgets so the price of the truck will continue to rise and one of these days maybe none of us could afford one.

Automatic transmissions have more components and are more complicated to manufacture, that's been a fact of the industry since I can remember. The diminishing cost difference has to do with economies of scale due to consumer preference.

They will go with TSS-c on the trucks Bc with the pro models there's really no way to put the wave radar in the grille.
Auto high beams means new lights. And since it's going to be standard, an LED option makes sense.
They did it on the Rav, but not the Highlander refresh, so who really knows.

The Ranger had the midsize market before, it will have it again unless toyota makes some major changes. Reliability across all manufacturers is growing every year and almost every major brand outlasts the average time people keep their cars/trucks anyways.

So yes, as soon as people sit behind the wheel of the new Ranger with the hp/torque that the ecoboost will offer, you bet they will spit the kool-aid out their mouth right then and there.

I'm dreaming of them offering a manual transmission 4x4 but they'll probably leave that market for toyota.

Center console divider thingy, rubber bed mat and side steps for the wife.
Hit the nail on the head...
I will pay more for my Limited Tacoma than I did for my Avalon Touring...and the Limited will be missing a few bells and whistles than the Avalon.

    Memory seats.
Power driver and passenger seats with power lumbar etc..no excuse here.. I have not had a car or truck with manual seats since I can remember.
Passenger door entry and lock function. From what I can tell, it is only on the driver door side.

The above I realize are non issues to most of you, however at the price point these trucks are demanding, a glaring omission..

I bet the Ford guys are watching all the complaints and will assure they are all covered when the Ranger/Bronco are released...

100% agree. A vehicle that is approaching the price of 40K; memory seats should be standard. No excuse. Especially for the "Limited" model.

They won't need to refresh anything thats added tech. Additional content, just like they always have, will be hard to distinguish/average person won't be able to tell between a 2016 and 2018, guarantee it, just like we got a power slider this year, power seats at some point, etc. Nothing major just enough to keep it relevant and selling.
