Hello there guys, my name is Matt and I'm looking to sell my current car soon for a Tacoma and I have a few questions. I'm going to be looking at one soon and I wanted to know what the common things to look for are on these trucks with I give it a personal inspection. Here is the truck in particular:

    http://www.cars.com/go/search/detai...kId=20088&rpp=50&feedSegId=28705&aff=national

I'm gonna check the suspension for fluid leaks, differential for leaks, signs of oil underneath the motor, etc. Any other things particular to the Tacoma that I should look for?

Also, I think the seller wants a little too much for it considering the mileage, what is a reasonable offer to throw at them?

I would not go with an auto. I heard the 2.7 is underpowered for an auto, I would get a 5spd.

I'm not gonna be off-roading with this truck or anything, it's just gonna be my daily to school and work.

What would be a reasonable offer for the truck above?

I'm no expert on Taco prices but that seems a little high to me for a taco with 160K miles. I got a 06 base 5-lugger with 30,000 miles for 8500, but I did pay cash from a private seller.

Yeah I'm thinking it's high. I'm gonna start at $4750 cash and go from there.

Used car dealers usually try to make between 500 and 1500 on a car thats less than 7K. Just FYI. But remember, sometimes they are willing to take a loss--its a part of business, cash is king. They might need some cash because they know of another good deal that they can make more money on...
