I have a button located just above my E-brake (manual 6spd 07 taco access). It looks very similiar to the one pasted below, except the shape of the switch is actually round and doesn't have a light-indicator. I do have the tow package, so i was wondering if it just kills the power to the harness in the back? I have not had a chance to hook up a "working" trailer yet to test. I did some searches, but all it yielded were people talking about the fog lights. Any ideas?

link to pic in case it doens't show up:

    Its not stock.
So, the previous owner probably installed an accessory switch for something. Does it do anything when you switch it on?

I have been slapping the switch around and can't figure out what it does. I have OEM fogs, and the respective switch for that. i bought it used, so, like you said, it must be aftermarket then. I've tried it moving, wit the car on, off (to see if i could hear what it was doing)...nothing. I guess i am just going to have to trace some wires...

no the seats are not heated...that would have been GREAT for the weather out here.

    Must be my "supercharged-turbo-nitrous" button.

i'll bet the previous owner had extra lights and removed the lights and didn't bother taking the switch out... so it's powering nothing right now.. see if you can find the extra wires somewhere and stick some paperclips in there with the switch off, and then get someone to hold onto the paperclips and turn the switch on and see if they jump :goingcrazy:

trace the wires. maybe there wont even be wires connected to it when you look if thats the case it does nothing. its just there instead of taking it out and leaving the hole.

Well, i planned on sound deadening the whole thing in a couple weeks, so i suppose one or two more panels removed won't be a big deal. Seat warmers would have been sweeeeeeeeet...

Was there a DVD player in the truck? Sometimes a switch is used for the by pass so you can play DVD's while driving.

Well, just so you guys all stop worrying, i figured it out on my way home from work tonight. I stumbled across a hidden 3.5mm jack cord that was poking out from behind the shifter. As it turns out, the switch turns on (and off) an FM Modulator that is wirde into the stock radio. Works better than any one i have ever had, so i consider this a score! However, gas tank bombs, super-nitrous, and DVD players would have all been scores as well.
