I love the moment something isn't pristine anymore. Now it's time to make those expensive shocks work!

Oh he’s fine. And since he wants them shiny, he likely won’t drive on gravel roads or go wheeling. Gotta keep that undercarriage sparkly.

I moved to New Mexico with almost no rain or snow or salt and the new 12” smoothies are not pretty after a few months of real use. :notsure:

This whole sentiment of “they’ll get scratched up anyways” and “what's the big deal” and “ do you even off-road at all” is old, tiring and ridiculous IMO. If you had your trucks windows tinted and there were a bunch of bubbles on one window, would you just chalk it up to- you can still see through the windows, no big deal, or you bought new tires and it looked like a third grader wrote all over them with chalk, no big deal, it will wash off eventually, tires still perform like they are supposed to. If you had your truck detailed (like the OP did) and it came back with paint rubbed off by a polisher or with wax not buffed off, no biggie truck still drives like it should. The point is that he took his truck to be detailed and he got it back with some parts looking worse than when he brought it in. Which obviously misses the point of it being detailed in the first place! I don’t see how you can dis on someone for being disappointed in a service that was done poorly or incorrectly. Yes, not going to affect performance, no shit Sherlock. I’m not saying they need to replace the shocks or anything, but an apology and maybe a free detail or two would be appropriate. And getting beat up on TW for wanting what he paid for is sort of sillyo_O
    IMO

OP is soft, don't try to defend them. You must be new around here because that type of logic doesn't fly in our angry mob of TW keyboard warriors. This is your first & last warning "Snowman 7878"

WTF you talking about? This has nothing to do with mall crawling. It’s someone else damaging your fucking property. Holy shit.

wow. This is getting out of hand now. I was just pissed that SOMEONE else damaged my property and I’m getting shitted on.

this had nothing to do with off-roading, mall crawling or shiny shocks. It was about a shop damaging your property.
it could’ve been anything regarding my truck and I would’ve been pissed since I didn’t do it.

    thanks guys.

Don't let the cool edgy kids here convince you differently. Every.single.person. here on TW shares this sentiment about something on their truck.

    Just some stuff...
If there's no clear coat try Maguire's scratch X.
Edit: Maybe you shouldn't. Maguire's does have a little grit in it so it'll probably mess with the anodized finish on them.

The only solution to these issues is to stab the responsible parties.

Idc what any of these people say. My vehicle needs to look better than it did before I got there. Any damage to the parts, and yes that's damage is not okay. If I pay 4k for shocks I personally want them to look good. Its a DETAIL

^ well said! I wonder how some of you here would feel if you had this happen to your $2,000 new wheels at a detail shop? Would you pass that off and say they still roll so no big deal? I highly doubt it.

I have $2000 wheels and they are completely wrecked from off-roading so some of us wouldn’t even notice if someone added some scratches.

As you get older, you tend to choose your battles. This is not one I would spend much time fighting personally given where these things sit and what they were designed to do. But everyone is different; I sure hope you get this resolved to your satisfaction.

Some would, some wouldn't. I wouldn't get too bent out of shape over something happening to something that will end up getting beat up on the trail like wheels depending on what actually happened. Some recompense is warranted, of course. That's just good business.

I think most are in agreement that some compensation is due and the shocks will be ok. I don't know what else there is to it.
