Possible Taco!

I sold my '02 PreRunner over the weekend in hopes of finding a '01-'04 4x4 Double Cab. I think I may have found the one, but I want some opinions. It has 124k on it. The dealer will take 14,000 even. In my area these blue book for 16,600. It is literally the only local one I could find. And it just so happens to be exactly what I want! Black too!

What do y'all think?

 

It looks really clean. 14k seems a little high to me BUT... it's the exact truck you want. It's worth something to have the exact vehicle you want. You'll smile every morning you drive it.

 

If you want to pull the trigger on it, check every inch of it for rust problems! Other than that, it looks clean. Sell that brush guard though. lol

 

Just to give you an idea, I traded in my '07 access cab 4x4 with 135k on it and they gave me 10,000 on the trade-in. Maybe I got robbed, but it was over what Kelly Blue Book had it listed. They probably turned around and sold it for 15,000 or so. The point is if it is in really good shape and you really like it go ahead, but I bet you could find a newer 4x4 for the same price. Unless you want a 1st Gen then it's probably a good deal, especially if it's exactly what you're looking for. Those don't come along too often.

 

It does look very clean, but like I said I have yet to see it in person. I do hope it's as clean as it looks in the pics. If so, it will be coming home with me! And I agree, it's worth a lot having exactly what you want! That's why I sold the PreRunner, it just wasn't right for me.

I plan on checking the frame thoroughly, but if I recall it did not originate in a "cold climate" state, so that recall wouldn't apply. Matter of fact, I checked Toyota's recall site and it has none whatsoever. I just can't wait to go see it!

 

I say go for it if it looks good and it's in your budget

 

I wouldn't mind having a 2nd Gen at all, but I guess in Central Arkansas folks appreciate their Tacomas! The only one that even comes close to my criteria is an'05 DC with 152k for $16,995! All the others I've found are PreRunners. Besides, there's just something about those 1st Gens that get me...

It sounds like everything's set. I've been talking to the guy via text and email. Got all the numbers crunched, checked the CarFax, all the kinda stuff. I'll have cash money with me when I go, and we all know money talks. Other than that, I'm just going to go drive it Saturday afternoon (I have to take a College Algebra test in the morning or else I'd be there waiting on him!). If it all checks out it's coming home with me!

Sweet! Seems like there are a few other Central AR guys on here. More 4Runners and Cruisers but from what I can tell they are very welcoming!

 

I'd say go for it. That's a decent deal in my area as well. I bought an 01 DC v6 prerunner with 130k last week and I paid $8500, and that was a really good deal considering the other Tacoma's for sale in my area.

 

I'm not gonna lie, I'm already pretty dead set on it. And considering it's the ONLY ONE around (and I don't like driving my grandpa's car), I think it's a go! I just sold my '02 PreRunner X-Cab with 141k for a little over 6k and it had a rebuilt title. I love the resale on these when I'm selling them, not so much when it's time to buy! But you get what you pay for!

I'm going to leave work early tomorrow to go look at it, and more than likely buy it. I'm so damn excited!! I don't think I'll sleep much tonight!

I have the cash in hand. Just have to wait for the seconds to fall off the clock so I can go look at it, and more than likely buy it.
