if it was my truck and i had like 3-4 grand to spend this is what i would do.

gears (f-r) 1200 installed with install kits.
    locker rear 250 for lockrite
33x12.5x15 tires 700 (with your deal? idk)
15x8 wheels of your choice 200 for black steelies

    and this lift http://www.toyteclifts.com/index.ph...tegory_id=120&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=72
    - $1000

a little over your budget but i think thats your best bet

Coil overs sound like a pretty good idea. Like I said, I don't know a lot about suspension, so I'm staying open to ideas until this summer when I start getting into it. I mounted the tires I have now myself and changed a few other things on the truck (just some minor maintenance) and I didn't thing that 15s would work on this year of the Tacoma because the rotors and drums are too big.

certain 15 inch rims fit on 1st gen tacomas. the black steelies didnt fit mine, but they fit most. it depends on the truck

That leveling kit is something to think about, I kinda had a set of 16x8 Pro Comp Steel Wheels in mind for whenever I get into this.
