in this particular situation i would be inclined to go straight to American quality. ST Maxx.

 

I run 35 in them and these have never seen anything more then a gravel road

 

I do live in a harsh climate but still.

I’d go to whatever tire store you got them from and try to get Yokohama, Michelin, Cooper instead.

 

Mine were doing the same thing but I had around 20k on them.

 

Ive found every pic of my wildpeaks to be deceiving tread wise.

 

I’ve only got 20k on mine and they will need to be replaced after this summer

I've seen this on a couple SLs, but with cracking in the sidewall. Both sets had low pressure, offroad miles. Falken engineers said nothing to worry about, but I have 10ply-rated and not seeing the same issues.

 

Stick with the 265/75/16

 

Still looks too low for 5k miles. Do you drive on a lot of winding roads? I ask because I drive on a lot of winding roads, sometimes spiritedly and most of my tires don't usually last more than 25k miles.

Don't, I went from 285 Ko2's to 285 cooper xlt's and the coopers have way better traction in rain and have a much softer ride
