I even went and reworded it to make it sound less like I was trying to be a dick and more just generally confused. lol

Apparently people have been sensitive on TW today.

I have 45,000 miles on my Wildpeaks and they look better than those.

After a little research I came across a lot of cases similar to this, also a lot of chunking issues on the M/T's... Which led me to the coopers, don't have anything bad to say about them

Do you park in a drive way or on grass? Tires have been on for a ~year but only went 5k miles? Long periods of not using them while they're on the truck will cause rubber to crack and dry rot. especially if they're in direct sunlight. Should clean them if you aren't going to drive the truck for a while and store them in a cool dark place

that's a lot of wear for 5k miles! I have about 33K on my KO2's and a bit more than 1/2 the tread still left.

Fwiw the E rated wildpeaks don’t ride much different than the SL. Much better tire build. And better in all conditions. The SL are a really soft compound. They’re like driving on snow tires year round.

I had them in 6 ply, but they didn't start cracking until around 50k miles. I got 66k out of them.

Definitely get them warrantied and off the truck. Are all four that bad?

I ran a set of Wildpeak SLs for 1000ish miles and they were so bad. It's not hard to see why these are such cheap tires.
Thankfully, my local discount tire was happy to replace them with Nittos which currently have 5k miles and literally look band new.

I have close to 40k on my set and have had zero issues with cracking and they still have 15/32". Seems like you leave your truck parked a lot and likely in direct sunlight which is causing the cracking to accelerate. Could be a bad batch I suppose. Mine are from around that same time frame, I believe they are 41st week of 2018.

I live in North Dakota so they have been subject to extreme cold in winter and high heat in the summer, they have been driven daily but my commutes are very short since my home, school, and work are all within 10 miles. All 4 do look like that and measure 11/32. They are the 6 ply version. I think they are just a bad batch because I never had any problems with the Bridgestones I had on my 2nd that were subject to the same conditions.

Do you have the C, E, or SL rated wildpeaks?

I don’t know I should get the ko2s which only come in 10 ply in this size or Toyo open country at2. I’m looking for an at with a comfortable ride.

Hmm yeah that doesn't look good for 5k. We are running wildpeaks on our 4runner (285/70/17s) with like 15k miles on them and they still look brand new.

Then dont go with 10ply KO2s. I ran a set in 265/75r16 and I will say they have a pretty harsh ride and will knock you for 3ish mpgs. The Toyos will ride much better and last much longer.
