So I overtightened my upper shackle bolt and I bent/pinched my oem shackle onto my rxt leafs that I installed without the eyelet spacers (im getting replacements today) My question is once I remove the leaf spring and go to install the new replacement with the spacers and if its narrower then what is was, can I spread it open and bend it back in a vice? or should I get a new shackle if the new leaf spring does easily fit in easily? I just want to avoid any rubbing or too tight of a fit with the proper leaf springs that now have the eyelet spacers. The pic is what I did and why im thinking the shackle will be narrower...

I'm sure it will be ok. It shouldn't have bent enough to actually weaken the metal.
That being said, new OEM shackles are actually quite cheap. P/N is 04005 65104. They are like $20 for both. Might be worth just getting new ones for the peace of mind.

I would just lube the bolts and the sides of the bushing with grease and torque it down to 89 Foot Pounds.

Sorry revitalizing an old thread here..

Eyelet spacers? First I’ve heard of these and a quick search brings up nothing.
Does the OP or anyone else have any info on these??

The steel tube (sleeve, spacer) within the center of the bushing (usually it's bonded in place w/rubber bushings, but can be removed (or accidentally left out) w/urethane bushings).
