So above is the details of the truck. Test drove it and the ABS light is on. When I come to a stop, the ABS seems to engage (on drive payment). Would having the lift on the truck cause this? I don't currently have the codes for it, but is it most likely a ABS sensor (which seem to be very pricey:eek:). Truck drives great aside from that, but I am wondering what could cause this. I tried searching on here but couldn't get a general consensus or solution.

    Help a brotha out!

I would get the codes, although sometimes you still need to do some troubleshooting from there.

My 2000 needs an actuator, which is around $1,000.

He said the ABS engages during normal stops that wouldn't usually activate it though... So there is an actual problem with the system and not just low brake fluid or the "Test Mode" that trips if you have a scangauge.

I have done all the hi-pro mods for a life time, since I got this truck at a great price, I will be happy with showroom new.
I'm not very familiar with this but, from what I have read, with a 3" lift, don't you have to put extra length for the rear brakes? could be a crimp in the lines.
and low fluid could set of the ABS sensor before your brake warning light comes one. esp. if one of the sensors was not getting the proper fluid pressure, IE kink in the brake line.

Yea, its hard to tell. As I mentioned, it engages when it shouldn't. Does anyone know if you need longer lines when the lift kit is upgraded to 3 inches?

Not sure about that because I have a 3" in the front on my 1996 taco and my brakes are fine. They feel the exact same as they did before the lift. So im thinking thats not the problem

I have 3" front and 2" rear... The rears are really tight but no problems as of yet.

Well the guy I am buying it from said he had taken it to a shop where they test the voltage or current running through the lines? or sensors?. And that they had told him it was a front sensor more likely than not

Front wheel speed sensors huh? Ouch... better hope it's the right and not the left haha... For some unknown reason it's $10-$20 cheaper than the left one. They are pretty much identical... God only knows why they are different prices.

I had to replace mine since the old ones were so terribly rusted into my old spindles. I got them from USAtoyotaparts.com... they were the cheapest I could find. Their customer service kinda sucked cause they didn't tell me they were backordered until after I had payed and wouldn't cooperate when I needed to re-arrange shipping since they took so damn long to ship I had already moved up to school by the time they got to my house. I got them though and they are OEM and work... so I guess no complaints there.

If you plan on wheeling the your truck or flexing it put the extended ss lines on . Theres nothing like blowing a brake line at 55 mph.
I got mine with my lift from Wheelers.
