    I agree, redundancy is key. I have a hose clamp and PopNLock.

    BTW, I'm not saying the gun lock is a bad idea. I think that AND the hose clamp are a BETTER idea.

    Looks like a good and simple idea. They only problem I see is that the thieves wouldn't take the time to put the tailgate back on the hinges and just leave it dangling by he gun locks.

    agreed i also have 2 gunlocks and 2 hoseclamps put on the right side of my tailgate.

    I was disappointed to read about guys going to the police department for free gun locks. I suppose that if you tell them it's to prevent a tailgate theft and they give you one, all is good.

    My truck is garaged. And I work in a jail, so chances of thieves stealing my tailgate out of the parking lot are pretty frickin slim.

    I'm sure there will be opportunities for them to try it in other settings, but I am more worried about them stealing my spare. Seems more prevalent.

    Thieves suck. They should be shot in the nuts so they can't procreate.
