I went from a 1st Gen to a 2nd Gen back to a first Gen to a 3rd gen. Ive loved them all, for different reasons at that. After my gen 2 got totaled I built up a new 1st gen, I missed the size of the gen 2 but I love the simplicity of the 1st generation trucks.

So despite people saying it was over priced, and after spending several hours at the dealership...including one threat to the salesman that I would walk out because I wasn't going to be played for a chump...excessive arguing that despite the high sales numbers of the 3rd Gens that a lot of people prefer the 2nd Gens and would be willing to pay a higher price...and one additional threat that I would take the weekend to think about it, I walked out owing nothing on my 2015 truck I had to trade in and financing less money than the sticker price.
