It’s difficult to tell when they’re assembled. Mine were pretty shot at 7k miles. I had the same clunking noise, replaced the bushings with Energy Suspension poly version and noise is gone.

Interesting... I get a tick-like-sound when I hit a pothole or dip in the road, that I can’t figure out after installing UCA.

I have that too! I've had it for a year and replaced my entire front suspension and tie rods because it's driving me nuts! I hate it! If you ever figure out a fix let me know, I literally have replaced everything including the lower and upper control arms. No change.

Update- took the truck to toyota because lets face it. Im chasing a raccoon with a small hammer tapping shit and i cant find him. So the mechanic said it was the skid plate. Which after a quick test drive he realized he was wrong. Anyways i need to find a better skid plate. Because having the shiny diff drop showing is also annoying me. Heres my conclusion- the ome 885’s with adj bilstein 5100’s, when set at the same heighth or close setting, the noise im getting is the coil itself being released from being loaded and the bilstein shock is then supporting the truck when i turn or accelerate fast from a stop. Anytime the front left or right is raised the pressure on the coil is reduced and the coil is twisting itself. After all. The adj bilsteins are able to be placed on stock coil overs which is why i think the ome 885 is too much when combined with a adj bilstein 5100. So i am going to try a complete toytec with the aluma coil overs pre made. And see if that helps. If it doesnt than fuck it. Its just a truck.

Are you using the 885s with the 5100s lifted? You're only supposed to use them at the stock setting with the aftermarket coils.

I think they were trying to link another example of a similar issue to help you try to figure out the problem.

Yes, but are the coil buckets at the very bottom setting?

That paint chip on the second loop of the coil looks like your sway bar is hitting the coil. Do you have sway bar spacers or is your sway bar all stock? I had to get spacers for mine.

I did 5100’s all around, ome 885’s. Rear has an AAL, sway bar relocate, CB drop, cmc for the 285’s and spc adj uca’s. Sounds like i need to ditch the oke 885’s. Find some better coils.

Thanks. Not saying i dont want help finding a solution its just this forum has been up for years and problems do get repeated. But the generation of tacoma or slight differences do change things. I did read the thread u posted prior to posting the first part of this thread. And it sounds like OME’s arent good for tacomas. But ya man thanks didnt mean to sound like a dick. lieutenant Dan ice cream.

did you ever figure out what the clunk was from?
I have the same clunk, sounds like it’s coming from passenger suspension. I get it when I accelerate fast from a stop, when the suspension articulates from crawling over a rock or hitting a curb. Also when I accelerate into a right hand turn. Checked all suspension components and ball joints, CVs, bushings still no luck

The clunk was from a bad bushing from spc adj uca’s. They said for some reason the new style bushing doesnt like hot weather. And a lemon pops up every once in a while. So whatever. They replaced it and its not making any noises.

If u wanna test it. Rock your truck back and forth by jumping up and down on your side steps. Getting the uca’s to really move. U should hear it. If its what i had.
